Shorewood Beaches Closed Due To Coronavirus

SHOREWOOD, WI — As the new coronavirus public health emergency continues in Wisconsin, the North Shore Health Department ordered the closure of public beaches throughout the North Shore.

According to the health department, the beaches closed at 6 p.m. on April 3 and will continue to remain closed through the state's "safer at home" order, which restricts public travel and movement.

"This is to slow the spread of the virus and preserve the health of our community," officials said.

Playgrounds in North Shore Public Lands

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the playgrounds throughout the North Shore are closed. Playground equipment should not be used until further notice. This is to slow the spread of the virus and preserve the health of our community.

Milwaukee County Parks

The majority of Milwaukee County Parks public venues are closed until further notice and public events, rentals and programs scheduled to be held at these venues have also been cancelled.

Parks, trails and outdoor amenities including dog parks, disc golf courses and self-pay golf courses have all been closed, officials said.
