Shorewood Bicyclist Finishes in Top 100 in 'Boston Marathon of Mountain Biking'

More than a dozen pro road racers from Shorewood shined in Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival mountain bike event.

William Hausdoerffer of Shorewood finished 72nd overall in the 30th annual Chequamegon 40 on Saturday, an event some call the "Boston Marathon of Mountain Biking."

Hausdoerffer completed the 40-mile course in 2 hours, 20 minutes and 31 seconds.

The Chequamegon 40 began in 1983 with 27 riders. This year, 1,850 riders pedaled the 40 miles from Hayward to the finish at Telemark Resort in Cable, Wis. You can see all the race results on the festival website.
