Shorewood Criterium Cycling Classic Coming Up, Get Involved Here

SHOREWOOD, WI — The Shorewood Criterium Cycling Classic is coming to village this June with multiple races, categories and ways to get involved.

Shorewood's 16th Annual Criterium Cycling Classic will be held on Thursday June 27. Organizers say they're getting an earlier start with the addition of a Junior category. Races will start at at 10:40 a.m. The route is the same, bordered by Oakland, Olive, Maryland and Kensington.

Organizers say more than a dozen vendors will be set up along N. Oakland Ave. providing food, drinks, games and giveaways. Three Lions Pub will once again be throwing their block party with food, drinks and music. This year the pub will also have a kid’s zone with a kid’s bike track.
Shorewood Family Chiropractic will be providing cowbells to help build excitement and cheer
on the pros.

The Decoration Station, has moved next to No. 1 Chinese on E Kensington Blvd. Children will be able to decorate their bikes from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in preparation for the Kid’s Roll, a race for
children 12-and-younger. Kid’s Roll registration is from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. near the start-finish line on N. Oakland Ave. at E. Lake Bluff Blvd. and concludes with custard in the Coffee & Bagels parking lot.

The Shorewood Criterium needs race marshals and Kid's Roll volunteers. If you are interested in helping out, you are encouraged to sign up here. Various tasks and time slots are available.

Become A Sponsor

A Prime, pronounced as "preem" is an added cash incentive offered to cyclists on any given lap during a race. The sponsor's message will be announced as the athletes race by. Primes lend excitement to the race by creating a mini-race within a race. Anyone can get in on the action: a business, family or neighborhood.
