Shorewood Halloween Contest In The Works

You can participate in the virtual Halloween Costume Picture Parade.

SHOREWOOD,WI— The Halloween Costume Picture Parade begins October 26 as a way for the community to enjoy Halloween festivities.

"We may not be able to celebrate Halloween together this year, but we still want to see all of those fun costumes and so do your friends and neighbors," organizers said.

To participate, submit a picture of you or your family in your costumes to the Shorewood Library’s Facebook page between October 26 and October 31.

Shorewood joined a growing group of communities opting not to set official trick-or-treating times earlier this month.

The Board cited concerns of the pandemic when they voted at their October 5 meeting to refrain from setting official trick-or-treat hours this year.

"Community members should find alternative ways to celebrate the Halloween holiday this year. This decision was made to continue Shorewood's efforts to support the public health and safety for our community," a Facebook post read.
