SHOREWOOD - The Shorewood Police Department announced Friday that they have taken six juveniles into custody within the last week for alleged involvement in numerous vehicles entries and other crimes in Shorewood and other jurisdictions in Milwaukee County.

Police said the incidents are still considered under investigation and all six youths are going to be referred for charges to the Milwaukee County Children's Court Center.

Police investigated several vehicle entries to unoccupied vehicles early Sunday morning in the northwest area of Shorewood. Police said two of the vehicles were tampered with and there was damage to the ignition switches in those vehicles, indicating theft attempts. Police did not indicate if the six youths arrested this week had any connection with Sunday's string of vehicle entries.
