Shorewood Village President Says She's Doing Job, Won't Resign
Shorewood Village President Allison Rozek says a series of personal matters that were made public have no bearing on her job.

SHOREWOOD, WI — Shorewood Village President Allison Rozek says she is performing her duties as president, has no intention of resigning, and is asking for privacy after she had multiple contacts with West Allis police involving an ongoing domestic situation.
"I ask that you respect my husband, my son and my own right to privacy as we work though this personal matter, together as a family," she wrote on Feb. 17 on Facebook.
According to a WTMJ report, Rozek was confronted by West Allis police after multiple incidents earlier this year involving a man in West Allis that she previously dated. According to a JSOnline report, Rozek was "heavily intoxicated," and refused to leave his property on Jan. 31. In a previous one, she reportedly "trashed" his house, police said. The man called police on her a total of three times, according to the report.

Rozek was elected as Village President in April 2018. In a statement made on Facebook on Feb. 17 of this year, Rozek said her personal matters — including being separated from her husband for more than a year — have no bearing on her role as a public official in Shorewood.
"I am grateful to the members of this community who elected me to serve as Village President. I have faithfully carried out the duties of the office to the best of my ability, as identified by law and the oath of office that I pledged to our community," she wrote. "I have not, nor do I plan to, resign from the elected position of Village President."
Rozek also went online to explain personal matters related to her marriage, after multiple news outlets speculated that she had been living in West Allis. In her response, Rozek stated that she had been living in Shorewood all this time, and never lived in West Allis.
"I remain married to a loving and understanding man. Although we have been separated for approximately 20 months, at that time, we made the decision to continue living in the same home to co-parent our 16 year old son. My husband and I came to a mutual understanding that at all times, at least one of us would be home with our son, either while one of us was out or traveling for work. We have honored that commitment and will continue to do so," she wrote on Facebook on Feb. 17. "Over the last year, I had a relationship with an individual who resides in West Allis. At no time did I move into his residence, receive mail there, nor vacate my home in Shorewood."
