Storms Knock Out Power to Thousands in Milwaukee Area Wednesday
Milwaukee saw less than an inch of rain, but was hard hit by wind, causing power outages. Heavy rains were reported to the north.

WISCONSIN -- A wave of strong storms ripped through Wisconsin on Wednesday, flooding roadways, forcing school closures and knocking out power to thousands of people in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Milwaukee and Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha counties are under a flash flood warning that includes Racine and Kenosha counties until 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to the weather service.
According to the National Weather Service, the majority of Racine and Kenosha counties saw less than one inch of rain, but a short distance to the north near West Bend saw five or more inches of rain.

Between four and six inches of rain fell in other areas of southern Wisconsin late Tuesday into Wednesday morning, according to Wisconsin Emergency Management. In Dodge County, Parkview School and St. John’s Lutheran School in Mayville were evacuated as a precaution due to rising flood waters, according to a Journal Sentinel report.
