Village Of Shorewood Hosting Annual Spring Clean-Up To Help Seniors And Disabled Citizens

Shorewood Connects Neighbors hosts the annual event to bring together neighbors through community service.

SHOREWOOD - It's not about cleaning, it's about community when Shorewood Connects hosts the 6th annual Shorewood Spring Clean-Up from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6.

Volunteers will help clean yards of seniors and disabled adults throughout the village.

Those interested in helping out can meet at the Kingo Lutheran Church in the morning at 1225 E. Olive St. For volunteer information, contact Shorewood Connects Coordinator Michelle Boehm via e-mail at michelle.boehm@sbcglobal.net or call (414) 968-4369. Volunteers also can pre-register by texting YARD to 313131.

Seniors and disabled citizens who would like assistance during the clean-up are requested to sign up by Sunday, April 30. For assistance, contact Elizabeth Price at the Shorewood Senior Resource Center via e-mail at eprice@villageofshorewood.org or call (414) 847-2727.

Shorewood Connects is a Village-sponsored project developed to enhance the ability of older residents to remain in and contribute to the life of the Village.
