Watch Live: I-43 Closed Again After More Flooding

The Department of Transportation says there are severe delays and long backups ... again.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Flooding on Interstate 43 just south of Good Hope Road has snarled Friday morning traffic and resulted in multiple rescues. Authorities reported later Friday morning that the freeway has been reopened for traffic — only to have the beleagured stretch of road closed again just after 11 a.m. for even more flooding.

According to the North Shore Fire Department, flooding on I-43 resulted in several drivers getting stranded. Firefighters were called to rescue stuck drivers in the flooded freeway. The flooding was so deep on I-43 at Green Tree Road that six motorists got stuck in the flood waters, with one person seeking refuge on the top of their car.

Traffic heading north was redirected at Silver Spring Road. Southbound traffic was redirected at Good Hope Road.
