Shorewood schools art students combined creative forces Monday to craft murals to be auctioned at the Shorewood Men's Club annual BBQ next month.

Young Shorewood artists combined creative forces Monday to craft murals to be auctioned at the Shorewood Men's Club annual BBQ next month.
The students conceived the concept for the mural's design and then paired up with an older student with similar interests.
Shorewood High School freshman Celeste Carroll, for example, teamed up with Atwater Elementary School fifth grader Juliet Loomis to paint a mural on travel.

“We’re trying to incorporate the theme of travel and incorporate all of the images together,” Carroll said.
Loomis said, “I like how we get to paint and express ourselves,” Loomis said.

The conference, which lasted throughout the day, was held in the SHS North Gym and was organized by all of the district’s art teachers.
The Men’s Club paid for the students’ art supplies used during the conference.
