The main focus of the grant is to hire a part-time counselor to provide suicidal assessments and support for struggling youth in our community. Additionally, the grant allows for updated staff training, and the use of standardized assessment materials. With increasing needs in the community, this grant will serve to enhance the intervention services currently being provided by Youth Alternatives.
“We appreciate the partnership with CRMC as Youth Alternatives continues to be very much a part of our community conversation when it comes to suicide prevention,” said Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr. “This additional resource comes at a perfect time when we know more work can be done and our staff at Youth Alternatives is at capacity. We can never do too much to help struggling youth in Cheyenne, and we are grateful for this grant.”
