Laramie County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Laramie County is August 29. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Laramie County School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/15 - 8/16: Elementary Address Verification, Junior and Senior High Address Verification and Schedule Pickup
• 8/24: Building Staff Development
• 8/25: DistrictStaff Development
• 8/28: Planning Day
• 8/29: First Day of Classes

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development)

November

• 11/1: Elementary School Early Release (Planning)
• 11/2: No School for Elementary Students (Parent/ Teacher Conferences), Junior and Senior High School Early Release (Planning, Evening Conferences), End of First Quarter
• 11/3: No School for Students (Junior and Senior High School Parent/ Teacher Conferences)
• 11/10: Early Release for Students (Planning)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Vacation)

December

• 12/21 - 1/1: No School (Winter Vacation)

January

• 1/2: Classes Resume
• 1/15: No School (MLK/Equality Day Holiday)
• 1/19: No School for Secondary Students (Planning), End of First Semester

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Staff Development)
