A photography class aimed at middle school-aged children and their families will be hosted by the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in August.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is offering a unique opportunity to teach middle school-aged children and their families the art of photography.

Kids n' Cameras is a one-day class aimed at getting the participants familiar with the concepts of photography that most impact artistic imagery. The class will show participants the basics of how to use their cameras' power to capture the images that they envision as artistic.

The experience will consist of a brief classroom overview, field work in the Gardens, lunch and photography exploration of the Gardens as a family, presentations and class critiques of exploration photos. Due to time constraints, this class will be limited to 12 family teams.
