City Projects In Mountain Brook: What To Expect In 2020
Several projects are planned for the year in Mountain Brook, including upgrades at Jemison Trail.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — With the new year underway, the City of Mountain Brook looks to make some improvements in a bevy of facets around the city. City Manager Sam Gaston said several projects are on the slate this year, including road work, sidewalks and aesthetic upgrades.
"In 2020, we have a drainage project on South Brookwood Road, continuing the design and engineering for the roundabout projects in Mountain Brook Village and conducting a comprehensive traffic study of Overton Road for long-term traffic improvements," Gaston said. But those are just a few of the projects planned for the city.

- New playground equipment for Canterbury Park and Woodclift Circle.
- New water fountain for Mountain Brook Elementary Field and Irondale Furnace Park
- Sidewalks construction on Dunbarton Drive from Locksley to North Woodridge.
- Improvements at the Mountain Brook Athletic Complex.
- Planning for additional field improvements in the city.
- Preparing for the 2020 Census
- Design of sidewalks for Hagood Street from Euclid Avenue to Montclair along with the City of Birmingham.
- Preparing for plans to replace bridges on Caldwell Mill Road and Old Brook Trail.
- Landscaping along the pedestrian bridge in Jemison Park.
