John Cassimus Opening New Retail Concept In Homewood
Zoe's restaurant founder John Cassimus is opening a new business in Homewood May 10.

HOMEWOOD, AL - Local entrepreneur John Cassimus is again making his mark on the area business scene. The founder of Zoe's Kitchen, Maki Fresh, Mike's Merchandise and Jinsei is set to open Crazy Cazboy’s store at 136 Wildwood Parkway in the Homewood Shopping Center May 10.
Crazy Cazboy’s will source brand new products from companies looking to liquidate excess inventory and overstocked items and sell them to consumers at deep discounts, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.
The store features 50 four- by eight-foot dump tables stocked with 50,000 general merchandise items from brands such as Apple, Canon, Dewalt, Fitbit, Garmin, HP, Microsoft, Samsung, Starbucks, Titleist, Under Armour and others. Some of the products for sale include pro golf balls, binoculars, Dewalt drills, diapers, Tevos, factory refurbished iPads, and Starbucks espresso drink packs.

All the merchandise is sold over the course of the week on a descending price structure: $6 on Fridays, $5 on Saturdays, $4 on Sundays, $2 on Mondays, $1 on Tuesdays and 25 cents on Wednesdays. The bins are replenished over the course of the week, except for Wednesdays. The store closes on Thursdays to be restocked with new merchandise.
Cassimus plans to open five to seven more locations throughout Alabama and neighboring states by the end of the year.

The 10,000-square-foot shop will open its doors at 10 a.m. on May 10. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Wednesday and closed Thursday.
