Megan Montgomery's Husband Charged With Capital Murder
Former Hoover police officer Jason McIntosh has been charged with capital murder in the death of his wife, Megan Montgomery.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Jason Bragg McIntosh, 45, has been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of his wife, Megan Montgomery, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Montgomery was found dead in a parking lot behind Mountain Brook High School Sunday morning.
Chief Ted Cook of the Mountain Brook Police Department said McIntosh will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail and will be held with no bond once the booking procedure is completed.
"The Mountain Brook Police Department would like to express our appreciation to all the Law Enforcement Agencies that have assisted and that continue to assist in this investigation," Cook said. "We would also like to thank the many witnesses who have come forward with valuable information."

Cook said in a press conference that until noon, Monday, police did know the identification of the body found just after 4 a.m. by a police officer while on patrol. Montgomery's family reported her missing to Birmingham police, according to Cook, and Birmingham officers contacted MBPD, and they were able to identify Montgomery as the victim.
Cook said police obtained video from Saturday night of McIntosh at Courtyard 280 restaurant in Inverness and interacting with Montgomery and a group of people she was with at the restaurant. Cook said video showed she appeared to have left the restaurant with McIntosh voluntarily, although her credit card was left at the restaurant and her car was left in the Courtyard 280 parking lot.

Cook said Montgomery's body was found in the parking lot adjacent to the varsity baseball field, an area that was not well-lit at night. He said evidence at the scene indicated that Montgomery was shot at the site where she was found. He added that she was shot multiple times — once in the back and multiple times in the head.
McIntosh, a former Hoover police officer was arrested earlier this year in a domestic abuse case, and was investigated before that after an incident during which he is accused of shooting his wife in the arm during an altercation. He resigned from the Hoover Police Department after his arrest in May.
McIntosh was also employed by the Mountain Brook PD from 1997 to 1999. "We shared those concerns with the DA office and they said it was fine that we investigate the case," Cook said. He added that there are few people still employed with the city that were employed there when McIntosh was an officer.
Montgomery filed for divorce from McIntosh on May 16, but according to court records, the case was still active at the time of her death.
