Mitchell's Place Funky Fish Fry Set For April
The annual fundraiser for Mitchell's Place will take place at Avondale Brewery, and includes catfish, live music and more.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — For more than a decade, Mitchell's Place in Mountain Brook has held one of the Birmingham area's most popular fundraising events with the Funky Fish Fry, and this year's event marks the 11th annual edition of the fundraiser.
This year's Funky Fish Fry is scheduled for Saturday, April 10 at Avondale Brewery from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features live music, children's activities, and — of course — fried catfish. Tickets start at $10.
All patrons are required to wear a mask upon entering the venue and when moving throughout the venue. Masks can only be removed once the patron is seated and eating or drinking. All social distancing rules and regulations must be followed at all times.

The Funky Fish Fry is held every April to celebrate Autism Awareness month. The event is hosted by the junior boards of Mitchell’s Place and the Autism Society of Alabama in support of children and adults affected by autism in Birmingham.
Mitchell’s Place, on Overton Road in Mountain Brook, specializes in improving the lives of children affected by autism and other developmental disabilities. It was founded in 2005 by Nancy and Allen Meisler. Mitchell’s Place has now served more than 2,000 families throughout the southeast.
