Mountain Brook Business Students Receive Honors

Mountain Brook High School students in the business department were honored this week for their work with the SIFMA Foundation and WISE.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook High School students in the business department were honored this week for their work with the SIFMA Foundation and Working In Support of Education.

Crawford Golden, Clark Griffin, Thomas Miller and Sam Sullivan came in first in The Stock Market Game, which teaches student about personal investments. Noah Blattmann, Clay Carr, Alex Gauld and Walker Williams placed seventh. In the game, students establish a virtual investment portfolio and are taught when to buy, sell or hold the stocks, funds and bonds in their portfolios.

Students also received WISE Financial Literacy Certifications. Hughes Mitchell, Sarah Gladney, Lindsey Beset and John Coleman Morris scored a 100 percent on the certification test, and Liam Mitchell, Abby Russell, Huston Crommelin, Robby Kent and Sam Chesebro scored a 95 percent or higher.
