Mountain Brook City Council Approves 4-Way Stop At Intersection
The intersection is near Crestline Elementary and is at its busiest during morning and afternoon carpool.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A busy intersection near a Mountain Brook elementary school is about to get a little safer.
The Mountain Brook City Council voted Monday to make the intersection of Dexter Avenue and Vine Street a four-way stop by adding two stop signs on Vine Street.
The intersection is near Crestline Elementary and is at its busiest during morning and afternoon carpool, school officials said. Skipper Consultants, the city’s traffic consultant, performed a study of the intersection and recommended the stop sign additions to enhance safety.

Every other four-legged intersection on Dexter Avenue north of Vine Street is a four-way stop.
According to the city, the new signs will be installed later this week. The Mountain Brook Police Department will place two message boards on Vine Street to alert motorists of the change.
