MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL —Beginning Monday, the track at Mountain Brook High School will be closed for a resurfacing project expected to last through the summer.

The track will be stripped of its "mondo" material and the base layer will be ground down in order for a new "mondo" layer to be glued on top. Once the new surface is in place, it will be cured and striped.

The project will extend well into the summer, according to school system officials. The track will be completed before the start of the new school year. Mountain Brook Schools will keep the community updated on the progress of the new track.
