Mountain Brook Hosting Shades Creek Fest At Jemison Park

Mountain Brook and Homewood are hosting a festival April 7 at Jemison Park.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The cities of Mountain Brook and Homewood are hosting an event at Jemison Park April 7, which will include several activities for kids and family. The inaugural Shades Creek Fest begins at 9 a.m. at the National Bank of Commerce parking lot on Shades Creek Parkway.

Activities will include:

  • Audubon Bird Walk
  • Wildflower Walk along Jemison Trail
  • Fly Fishing lessons
  • Receive a tree that is being given away
  • A performance by the National Water Dance group
  • See the owls and hawks that the Wildlife Center is bringing
  • Free popcorn at the Cahaba River Society Tent
  • Learn about invasive plants and how to identify them
  • Activities with the Cahaba Environmental Center
  • Meet the authors of an upcoming book about Shades Creek
