Mountain Brook Listed As One Of Alabama's Safest Cities

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook was listed as one of Alabama's safest cities by Elite Personal Finance's annual safety survey.

Mountain Brook came in third on the list, behind Hoke's Bluffs and Margaret. The list was based on the website's scoring system, which measures total number of violent crimes against the city's total population, with data extracted from the 2016 FBI crime statistics. Mountain Brook reported 14 crimes in its population of nearly 21,000.

Other Birmingham area cities ranked highly on the list, including Vestavia Hills in fifth, Hoover in seventh, Helena in eleventh and Pelham in sixteenth.
