Mountain Brook Spartans Advance In Playoff, Face Thompson Again

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — After toppling Region 4's Bob Jones in the first round of the state playoffs, the Spartans turn back around to face familiar region foe Thompson in the second round. The Spartans put up a tough fight in its narrow 23-22 victory against Bob Jones, and now looks to take on the Region 3 No. 1 seed for the second time this season.

This is the first time the Spartans have made it passed its initial playoff game to advance to the semifinals since 2012. The team will face Thompson fresh off of a solid 35-0 win against Huntsville, hoping to overcome a loss to the Warriors earlier in the season, 40-13.
