Mountain Brook Spartans Look to Recover in Road Game Against Thompson Warriors

After a disappointing loss against Hoover, the Mountain Brook Spartans will try for their first region win against Thompson.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Spartans are left with a 0-1 record in region play after a disappointing 31-21 loss to Hoover last week, but the team is looking ahead to week 4 in an upcoming match against the Warriors of Thompson High School.

Last year, the Spartans beat the Warriors in a narrow 20-17 defeat, and has beaten them in 10 of the last 11 in the series. Thompson is 2-0 overall, with a definitive region win 63-22 last week against Tuscaloosa County. The Spartans will be on the road Friday to face the Warriors at Larry Simmons Stadium at 7 p.m.
