Paving Work On Cherokee Road May Cause Traffic Issues

A paving project on Cherokee Road from 280 to Overcrest Road could take as long as five days to complete.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - A paving project on Cherokee Road began Wednesday morning, and is expected to take as long as five days to complete. The project will likely cause traffic issues as the project progresses.

Wednesday morning, the milling crew began milling on Cherokee Road at Highway 280 working toward Overcrest Road. The milling will last until 4 p.m. Wednesday, weather permitting. Dunn Construction will be using a pilot vehicle and will keep one lane open at all times, but some delays are to be expected.

This work is scheduled to continue each day from 9-4 until the milling and paving are complete. However, bad weather is expected Wednesday and Thursday, which could delay the project.
