Pipeline Replacement Project To Begin At Shades Creek

Spire will begin a project in a couple of weeks replacing the Shades Creek pipeline from Overhill Road to Cahaba Road.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A pipeline replacement project will begin in Mountain Brook September 22, affecting the area near Mountain Brook Village near Jemison Trail.

Officials with the city said Spire will start work on the Shades Creek pipeline replacement project near Overhill Road and work back toward the west. The dual mains will cross under Watkins Branch to the northeast of Cahaba Road.

The project is expected to take 4-5 weeks to complete, and crews will begin work after 8:30 a.m. and end no later than 4:30 p.m. Traffic may be affected by work equipment, which could block a lane of traffic during construction hours.
