MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mafioza's Pizzeria and Neighborhood Pub, an 11-year tenant in Crestline Village, has closed its doors. The restaurant's management released a statement via social media Tuesday.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce our closing," the message said. "We would like to thank the Mountain Brook community for 11 great years. It has been our honor to host your date nights, game days, family dinners, and team parties. The friendships and relationships that have been made here are truly special, and we will miss being a part of the Crestline community. Thank you for making our family a part of your families for so many years."

The building Mafioza's occupied will not stay empty long, according to a Village Living report. The Mountain Brook City Council on Monday approved the use of the building at 2 Dexter Avenue to Tom Carruthers of LAH Realty and restaurateur Frank Alverson.
