Popular Downtown Pub Opening Mountain Brook Location
Carrigan's Public House will open this fall in Mountain Brook Village.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — One of Birmingham's most popular bars plans to open a second location to compliment its downtown Birmingham spot. Carrigan's Public House plans to open a new location in Mountain Brook Village later this year.
The pub, which has enjoyed significant success off Morris Avenue downtown, will open in what was formerly Dram. Dram closed after 10 years in December of 2018.
Carrigan's is expected to open this fall, according to a report by the Birmingham Business Journal. Owner David Carrigan said the pub didn't have plans to expand until the property became available.

"I think this piece of property is a very special location and that Mountain Brook Village is a great fit for another Carrigan’s," he said.
Carrigan's will take the downstairs space formerly occupied by Dram at the site. Earlier this year, Abhi Eatery and Bar opened upstairs in the building where Avo was previously located. The new restaurant opened in March under the direction of renown chef Abhi Sainju.

The public entrance to Carrigan's will be on Montevallo Road through what was previously the back patio for Dram.
"We are excited about our new neighbor Abhi taking the upstairs space, but thought it beneficial to truly separate the entrances and control the experience better for our guests," Carrigan said.
