Road Closure To Affect Traffic On Old Leeds Road Thursday

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A construction project Thursday will close Old Leeds Road at Shady Lane beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The job site at 3832 Old Leeds Road will be accepting deliveries of steel for this project, which will require workers to block at least half of the road for up to four hours.

An off-duty officer will be stationed at one location on the road, which would be near the corner to the east of the site to monitor traffic.

The project will also provide two flaggers for this operation to be positioned on each side of the road to stop traffic when loads are being removed from the truck and to guide traffic around the one closed lane. The flaggers will have two-way communication.

In conjunction with the flaggers and police officer, a “Construction Work Ahead” and a “Slow” sign will be positioned at each end of the road to warn oncoming traffic to take precaution as they approach the area.
