'Small Business Saturday' Approved In Mountain Brook
The Mountain Brook City Council approved Small Business Saturday for the city at the end of November.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Mountain Brook City Council Monday unanimously passed a proclamation declaring Nov. 28 to be Small Business Saturday in the city.
Small Business Saturday is an annual retail holiday that encourages shoppers across the country to spend money with local businesses at the beginning of the Christmas season. The initiative was first observed in the U.S. in 2010.
Small Business Saturday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores respectively. By contrast, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local.
