Spartan Baseball Alumni Head To NCAA Tournament
Three former Mountain Brook baseball players will play in the NCAA baseball tournament, which begins Friday.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook's baseball team has produced numerous college players, and this year, some of those Mountain Brook alumni will be center stage in the NCAA baseball tournament.
Mountain Brook alum Harrison Ware, a catcher for the University of South Alabama, will play in the Gainesville Regional, with his Jags as the no. 3 seed. South Alabama, who won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, will face Miami Friday.
Former Spartans Dowd Ritter and Will Yarbro will join their fellow Samford Bulldogs in the Starkville Regional as the no. 4 seed. Samford, the Southern Conference champion, faces Mississippi State Friday.

Mountain Brook alum Will Forbus is one of the team managers at TCU, who also has made the NCAA tournament, and hosts its regional as the no. 1 seed.
"All these guys made huge contributions for us when they were here, and I am proud of them," Mountain Brook baseball coach Lee Gann said.
