Altercation In East Jefferson County Turns Into Deadly Shooting

A 36-year-old man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in east Jefferson County Monday night.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 36-year-old man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in east Jefferson County Monday. The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Florentine Circle just after 9 p.m.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the investigation this far suggests that an altercation occurred inside one of the apartments, which escalated into shots being fired.

No suspects are in custody. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
