Area Teams Ranked In ASWA Poll As They Enter Playoffs

As the AHSAA football playoffs begin Friday, Hewitt-Trussville, Pinson Valley and Clay-Chalkville finished the season in the ASWA top 10.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — As the regular season came to a close last week for Alabaam high school football, Hewitt-Trussville, Pinson Valley and Clay-Chalkville each found themselves ranked highly in the Alabama Sports Writers Association's final 2020 polls.

Hewitt Trussville finished the regular season ranked no. 2 in Class 7A, behind Hoover and Thompson. The Huskies will start the AHSAA playoffs on the road against 10th ranked James Clemens.

Pinson Valley also finished the season ranked no. 3, as the Indians prepare for their playoff match-up at home against Arab. Clay-Chalkville finished with a no. 6 ranking, as the Cougars host Southside-Gadsden in the first round of the playoffs.
