Arrest Made In Roebuck Plaza Shopping Center Shooting
Birmingham police arrested a man in connection with the deadly shooting March 19 at the Roebuck Plaza Shopping Center.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in the deadly shooting March 19 at the Roebuck Plaza Shopping Center. Jamarcus Jordan, 18, has been charged with murder in the death of Lazonathan Rhodes, police said.
Jordan was arrested April 16 at a home in McCalla during the execution of a search warrant, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department.
Mauldin said five guns were seized during the search, along with narcotics, which has prompted further investigation.

Police say an argument in the parking lot of the shopping center escalated into a shooting, and both people involved in the argument were shot. Both were taken to UAB Hospital where 25-year-old Birmingham resident Lazonathan Rhodes died.
