Center Point Pawn Shop To Relocate After Multiple Burglaries

The owner of Lee's Pawn Shop said he is leaving Center Point after his store was burglarized for the 11th time in just two years.

CENTER POINT, AL - Retail businesses have to deal with robbery and theft often, and business owners knows this. But there comes a time when multiple instances of crime at the business force an owner to relocate to a safer location. This is the case for the owner of Lee's Pawn Shop in Center Point, whose store was burglarized Thursday morning - the 11th burglary at his store in just two years.

“It’s the crime in Center Point. It’s horrible,” said Lee to the Trussville Tribune. “I had a customer pull a gun on another customer a couple of weeks ago. I’m out!"

Reports say the suspects broke into the rear of the old Nationwide Insurance business, which is next door, and used a chainsaw to cut holes through the walls and gain entry to his business. Three cases of guns were stolen, according to the owner.
