Hewitt-Trussville Teacher Finalist For Teacher Of The Year

A Hewitt-Trussville High School teacher has been named one of 16 finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year.

MONTGOMERY, AL — A Hewitt-Trussville High School teacher is among the finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year. Jeff Schrupp is one of just 16 teachers statewide now eligible to win the award.

The Alabama State Department of Education chose the finalists from a pool of more than 138 candidates.

Schrupp, who teaches AP U.S. Government and AP World History at HTHS, has more than two decades of teaching experience, 10 of which in Trussville.

Schrupp received his bachelor's degree from Concordia University in Wisconsin, and his M.A. and Ed.S from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The 2021-2022 Alabama Teacher of the Year will be officially announced by the Alabama State Board of Education and the Alabama State Department of Education in August.
