Huskies Advance To State Softball Tournament
Hewitt-Trussville went undefeated in the East Central Regional on Friday to book a spot in the state tournament.
TRUSSVILLE, AL — Hewitt-Trussville is on its way to the Class 7A state softball tournament after a dominating performance in the East Central Regional Friday.
The Huskies opened the day with a 12-2 victory over Central-Phenix City then beat Auburn 11-4 in the winners bracket game.
Sara Phillips was the winning pitcher in the first game, as she tossed six innings and allowed just one earned run. Tori Hyde pitched a complete game and struck out five batters in the second game.

The Huskies will travel to Oxford May 20-21 for the 7A State Tournament. The event will be an eight team double-elimination format, and Hewitt-Trussville's first game will be May 20 at 9 a.m.
