Huskies, Indians, Cougars Stay In Top 10

The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its latest football poll. See where area teams are ranked.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — Trussville-area high school football is making a strong showing so far in the 2020 season, as Hewitt-Trussville, Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley all remained in the Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10 this week.

The Huskies are ranked no. 2 in Class 7A after a forfeit win over Saraland, which brings the team to 2-0 going into 7A action Friday against 10th-ranked Spain Park.

Pinson Valley beat Shades Valley 31-21 last week, which has the 1-1 Indians ranked 6th in the ASWA poll. Clay-Chalkville won a forfeited game against Hueytown, which brings the Cougars to 2-0 and ranked 7th.

Pinson Valley takes on 8th-ranked Gardendale at home Friday, while Clay-Chalkville travels to Jasper this week.
