Man Charged With Murder After Shooting In Jefferson County
A shooting at an apartment complex near Huffman High School resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man Monday.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man is dead and another man is in custody after a shooting in Jefferson County Monday afternoon. The shooting occurred just before 5 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Florentine Circle.
According to reports from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, witnesses said 31-year-old Andre Lawrence was at the apartment complex waiting for a ride, when 27-year-old Tarrell Reishon McCarter-Craig arrived at the location, produced a gun and fired at the vehicle Lawrence was entering.
Lawrence was struck and killed. A female witness said Lawrence and McCarter-Craig were acquaintances.

After interviewing witnesses, deputies took McCarter-Craig into custody and charged him with murder. His charge carries a $50,000 bond.
