Man Drowns In Coosa River While Fleeing From Police
A police chase involving the Pell City Police Department ended tragically when a man drowned in the Coosa River.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL — A man fleeing police died when he reportedly jumped into the Coosa River and drowned. The man, identified as 37-year-old David Harold Grant Morgan, was fleeing from Pell City police, according to an al.com report.
Morgan was stopped by police just before 9 p.m. Tuesday because the car he was driving was reported stolen. The al.com report said Morgan drove away from tje scene, then stopped on the interstate shoulder in Riverside and jumped into the Coosa River.
Morgan's body was discovered later in the evening.
