New Trussville Restaurants Give Timeline For Opening
A Trussville development that includes Chicken Salad Chick and Metro Diner could be complete by next spring.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Two new restaurants in Trussville are planning a spring opening, according to reports. Chicken Salad Chick and Metro Diner, are part of a new development located at 2050 and 2058 Gadsden Highway thatstarted construction last month. Work is expected to be complete on or before April 1.
According to a report by the Birmingham Business Journal, the city estimates that when complete, the restaurants and retail will generate $5 million in sales annually and will provide the opportunity for 225 post-opening jobs.
In addition to Chicken Salad Chick and Metro Diner, the 24,240-square-foot building has space for up to seven more retailers, but Holt said developers don’t want more than three restaurants in the development.

The city will enter an incentives agreement with Trussville Capital Investments LLC in which the city pays the developer half of the 3 percent general, noneducational sales tax collected by the city from the operations within the development. The incentives agreement will last for seven years or until the city pays the developer $750,000, whichever comes first.
