New UAB Nephrology Clinic Looks To Serve Trussville Community

A new nephrology clinic in Leeds was built in hopes to serve communities like Trussville.

LEEDS, AL - A new nephrology clinic in the Leeds UAB Healthcare facility will serve patients that live in communities such as Moody, Leeds and Trussville, UAB officials say. The clinic will be open on Fridays.

According to a report from the Birmingham Business Journal, UAB nephrology physicians Dr. Guarav Jain and Dr. Vinay Narasimha Krishna will provide care at the facility. Nephrology patients in cities like Trussville and nearby did not have close options until this facility opened, which UAB officials say necessitated the need for it.

“We’re excited to better serve our patients who live east of Birmingham in places like Leeds, Moody, Trussville, Springville, Gadsden, Pell City and Lincoln and even our patients in Anniston, Oxford, Jacksonville and Heflin,” Jain said. “We can provide a full spectrum of services at UAB Medicine-Leeds, and do so in a location that is very convenient to our current and future patients. The facility, which opened in 2015, is located across from the Bass Pro Shop. The nephrology physicians at the clinic will provide consultations to patients with complex renal issues, chronic kidney disease, electrolyte disorders, uncontrolled hypertension and glomerular disease.
