TRUSSVILLE, AL — A popular deli chain in Alabama has decided to close its Trussville location. Momma Goldberg's, which already closed a Hoover location earlier in the year, announced it will permanently close its restaurant on Frank Street in Trussville.

"We are truly sad to announce the permanent closure of the Downtown Birmingham and Trussville Momma Goldberg’s," the company said in a statement. "Unfortunately the virus has affected the sales of small businesses everywhere and we were no exception. Momma Goldberg’s is also still serving hot, fresh sandwiches at three locations in Auburn as well as Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Mobile, LaGrange and Columbus, Georgia. We are committed to the health and safety of our guests and employees and are taking every safety precaution during this global health crisis."

The Homewood Momma Goldberg's location will remain open.
