Residential Care Facility For Minors To Open In Springville

The Housing Affordability Trust is funding a wellness center for victims of human trafficking.

SPRINGVILLE, AL — Construction will begin this year in Springville on a residential care facility for minor victims of human trafficking. A Birmingham Business Journal report said the WellHouse will build an eight-bed center from a $465,000 Housing Affordability Trust allocation.

The facility will be the first of its kind on Alabama, and one of only 40 known programs for trafficked minors in the country.
