Trussville Aims To Ease Highway 11 Traffic

As the city of Trussville builds its new downtown area, it also plans to construct two new roads that will connect to Highway 11.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - The revitalization of downtown Trussville has been a welcome development in the Birmingham suburb, but concerns over heavy traffic along Highway 11 are an aspect of the development that has had residents wary of the project. This issue has been addressed by the city, as two new roads are slated for construction to help ease the traffic along the busy road.

A report by ABC 33/40 said the master plan includes two loops that will start close to First Baptist Church and it will come out on Highway 11, one by Edgars and one by Waterson Parkway. Trussville City Council President Alan Taylor said both new roads will have red lights that will help relieve the congestion in the main intersection of downtown.

The city is also nearing completion on a project extending Valley Road to the Pinnacle shopping center, which is another way it hopes to provide relief on Highway 11.
