Trussville City Councilor Accused Of Sexual Harassment

A former employee of Trussville City Council member Zachary Steele says he sexually harassed women and used drugs in his office.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - A Trussville City Council member has been accused by a former employee of his of sexual harassment and encouraging drug use at his optometry office. According to a complaint filed Dec. 4 in Jefferson County Circuit Court, Zachary Steele sexually harassed employee Danielle Smith, and eventually fired her because she would not have sex with him and do drugs with him.

A report by Alabama Media Group states that other employees, including one who Smith claims was in a sexual relationship with Steele, are also named in the suit.

Smith is suing on five counts: sexual assault, battery, and harassment; negligent hiring, training, supervision, retention, and entrustment; personal trespass and invasion of privacy; conspiracy; and intentional infliction of emotional distress and outrage.
