Trussville Considering $26 Million Bond For Improvement Projects

Trussville approved a resolution to enter into a bond-purchase agreement for $26 million that would go toward improvement projects.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Some city improvement projects may be on the immediate horizon in Trussville after the council approved a resolution allowing mayor Buddy Choat to enter into a bond sale agreement for $26 million to go toward various facets of the city for improvements.

According to the Trussville Tribune, the $26 million warrant issue, also known as Series 2018-A, will be allocated to fund $17.5 million for downtown improvements, $4.2 million for the Valley Road extension project and $4.4 million for closing costs and reimbursements to the city.

Choat elaborated on the details of the projects that will be included in the Series 2018-A and 2018-B warrant issues at this week's council meeting.

“It will include the Valley Road Extension project that was approved recently for a little over $4 million dollars,” said Choat. “There is also a part that will pertain to the Trussville City School Board to fund some capital improvements.”
