Trussville Residents Can Now Purchase Car Tags At City Hall

Trussville residents no longer have to go to the Jefferson County Courthouse to buy car tags.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Trussville residents no longer have to go to the Jefferson County Courthouse to purchase or renew their license plates. Strating Monday, Trussville City Hall is open to Trussville residents who want to buy car tags.

According to a report by the Trussville Tribune, the new service came initially after a law passed by the State Legislature in April 2014 allowing cities in Jefferson County to issue motor vehicle registrations including issuing license plates.

The Trussville City Council approved the motion in December to allow license plate sales at City Hall, and last fall the council approved a contract with Ingenuity, Inc. to help the city establish a web-based program to handle the renewals process.
