TRUSSVILLE, AL — Memorial Day weekend is much more than just a long weekend at the lake or the beach, or a day off work. And in Trussville, the city's Veterans' Committee will embrace the spirit of Memorial Day weekend with a ceremony to honor the city's fallen soldiers, according to the Trussville Tribune.

The ceremony, which takes place at Civitan Park Sunday at 3 p.m., includes the unveiling of a bronze bust of Jason Stegal, a Trussville native who died in action Dec. 14, 2009 in Iraq. The bust was made possible through donations and through the Alabama Fallen Warriors Project.
