Unclaimed Freight Store Opening In Springville

A store selling unclaimed shipping items will open in Springville in August.

SPRINGVILLE, AL — Ever wonder what happens to packages that never get claimed from shipping companies? A new business in Springville opening in August might answer that question.

Shop Bob’s Unclaimed Freight will be opening on Marietta Road on Saturday, Aug. 3, with inventory consisting of items that were lost in shipping.

Bob Ping, his son, Christopher Spivey, and Bob’s son-in-law, Alan Callahan, are opening the store after selling similar items online, according to a Trussville Tribune report.

Shop Bob’s Unclaimed Freight will carry home goods, electronics, small kitchen appliances, fragrances and jewelry.

"What we buy is freight, by the pallet, that has been lost in the shipping process," said Ping in the Tribune report. "Most of it is U.S. – based, but we also have some interesting stuff from all around the world."

The store will be open Tuesday – Saturday. Hours will be Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. On the first day of business, Saturday, Aug. 3, the store will be open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
